ISSUED BE THE NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE IN 2004 – 2011.

Description: 'Vladymyr the Great' change coin of 1 Hryvnia denomination is dedicated to the great Kyiv prince and public figure during whose reign the formation of the ancient-Rus state was accomplished and the Christianity as a state religion was introduced.
Obverse: There is the Small State Emblem of Ukraine; beneath – the coin mintage year – 2006 and within the frame of an old-rus ornamental pattern there is a three-lined inscription: УКРАЇНА / 1 / ГРИВНЯ (UKRAINE / 1 / HRYVNIA), as well as the Mint logo of the National bank of Ukraine.
Reverse: There is a depiction of the prince Vladymyr the Great holding a cross in his right hand and a conventionalized depiction of the Church of Tithes in his left hand, as well a circular inscription: ВОЛОДИМИР ВЕЛИКИЙ (VLADYMYR THE GREAT).
Diameter – 26 mm., thickness – 1.85 mm., weight – 6.8 g. Along the rim of the coin the following inscriptions are pressed in: 'ОДНА ГРИВНЯ' (ONE HRYVNIA) and the year of its mintage, separated with dots from one another. Artist and sculptor: Vladymyr Demianenko.
Put in circulation since 2010. Struck at the Mint of the National Bank of Ukraine.
