Description: Jubilee coin, dedicated to 5th Anniversary of Banker's Day.
Obverse: The portrait of the Queen Elizabeth II. Semicircular inscriptions: 'ELIZABETH II' 'COOK ISLANDS' (above), '5 DOLLARS' (beneath).
Reverse: Semicircular inscription at the top along the rim: 'ДЕНЬ БАНКІВСЬКИХ ПРАЦІВНИКІВ' (THE BANKER'S DAY), at the bottom: '20 ТРАВНЯ' (MAY 20) and year of issue. In the center of the coin – map of Ukraine and two griffins.
The griffin (griffon or gryphon) is a legendary creature with the body of a lion and the head and often wings of an eagle. The griffin was selected because it was considered a guardian of riches, and education is viewed as a precious treasure.
