Description: Commemorative coin '350 Years of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv'. 'Higher educational establishments' series. The coin is dedicated to one of the oldest universities in Eastern Europe, a strong centre of science and education – the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv founded in 1661. With the University connected are activities of many famous scientists and schools of science which have made a considerable contribution to the development of Ukrainian and world science and culture.
Obverse: There are depicted: the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine and the semicircular inscription: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE) (above); in the centre, against the background of the conventionalized document on foundation of the University, there is the allegorical group of statuary symbolizing the education; the face value (below, bow-shaped) and mintage year (to the right): ДВІ ГРИВНІ, 2011 (TWO HRYVNIAS) together with the logotype of the NBU Mint.
Reverse: There is depicted the main university building erected in the second half of the XIX-th century. Over the edifice there is the Coat of Arms of the University and the semicircular inscription: ЛЬВІВСЬКИЙ НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ УНІВЕРСИТЕТ / ІМ. ІВАНА ФРАНКА (LVIV NATIONAL UNIVERSITY / NAMED AFTER IVAN FRANKO); below – 350 РОКІВ (350 years).
Weight – 12.8 g., diameter – 31.00 mm., edge – grooved. Artist and sculptor – Vladymyr Atamanchuk.
Put in circulation since January 20, 2011. Mintage: 45 000. The coin was struck at the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.

Description: Commemorative coin '20th Anniversary of the CIS'. The coin is dedicated to the regional organization whose participating countries are former republics of the Soviet Union.
Obverse: Above – the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the semicircular inscription: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE), below – the coin issue year and face value: 2011 / ДВІ ГРИВНІ (2011 / TWO HRYVNIAS) and the NBU Mint logo; in the centre there is depicted the National Flag of Ukraine (the decoration element – enamel) within the conventionalized viburnum (kalyna) wreath.
Reverse: Against the light background there is depicted the emblem of the Commonwealth of Independent States with the legend: 20 / РОКІВ (20 / YEARS) thereunder; above there is the semicircular inscription: СПІВДРУЖНІСТЬ НЕЗАЛЕЖНИХ ДЕРЖАВ (COMMONWEALTH OF INDEPENDENT STATES).
