Description: Commemorative coin 'UEFA Euro 2012™ Final Tournament. City of Kyiv'. Series 'Sport'. The commemorative coin is dedicated to an important sporting event – the final tournament of the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, some final matches whereof are to take place in Kyiv.
Obverse: There are depicted: above – the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the semicircular inscription: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE); against the background of the map of Ukraine with the legend: КИЇВ (KYIV) there is the image of the official UEFA Euro 2012 logo with the inscriptions thereunder UEFA / EURO 2012™ / POLAND-UKRAINE; to the right – the coin issue year 2011, NBU Mint logo and the bow-shaped face value: П`ЯТЬ ГРИВЕНЬ (FIVE HRYVNIAS).
Reverse: Against the background of a conventionalized panorama of the city and Olympic Stadium there are depicted figurines of two players with the ball in motion; above there is the Coat of Arms of Kyiv, below – the inscription: ФІНАЛЬНИЙ ТУРНІР ЧЕМПІОНАТУ ЄВРОПИ / З ФУТБОЛУ / 2012 р. (FINAL TOURNAMENT OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP OF EUROPE / OF FOOTBALL / 2012 YEAR).
Weight – 16.54 g., diameter – 35.0 mm., edge – incised. Artists: Vladymyr Taran, Aleksander Kharuk, Serhii Kharuk, sculptor: Vladymyr Atamanchuk.
Put in circulation since 23 December 2011. Mintage: 100 000. The coin was struck at the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.
