Description: Jubilee coin '10 years to the Academician Vernadsky Antarctic Station'. The coin is dedicated to the 'Academician Vernadsky', Ukrainian antarctic scientific centre (its former name was 'Faradey'), which is located in the Galindes island of Argentine Archipelago.
Weight - 16.54 g., diameter - 35.0 mm., edge - incised. Artists: Vladymyr Taran, Alexander Kharuk, Sergey Kharuk; sculptors: Vladymyr Atamanchuk, Roman Chaikovsky.
Put in circulation since January 16, 2006. Mintage: 60 000. The coin was struck at the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.

Since 1272 L'viv was the capital city of Halych and Volyn principalities.
