Description: Commemorative coin 'Year of Ox'. 'Oriental Calendar' series. The coin is dedicated to the Year of a Ox, one of the animal-symbols of the Oriental calendar, which is based on the twelve months cycle of Jupiter, the largest planet of the Solar system.
Obverse: Within setting made of a vegetable ornamentation in the primitivism technique there are inscriptions: ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÀ / 5 / ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ (UKRAINE / 5 / HRYVNIAS); at the top there is the small National Emblem of Ukraine and the inscription: ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ (NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE); beneath: the coin issue year, the designation of metal, its weight in fineness and the NBU Mint logotype.
Reverse: There is a ox made in a technique of a cheap popular print within a vegetable ornamentation setting (an ox's eyes are decorated with 0,01 carat rubies.) Both above and below it there is a depiction of contour figures of all 12 symbols of the Oriental calendar.
925 standard silver. Weight – 15.55 g., diameter – 33.00 mm., edge – incised. Artists: Vladymyr Taran, Aleksander Kharuk, Sergey Kharuk; sculptors: Anatolyi Demianenko, Vladymyr Atamanchuk.

Description: Jubilee coin 'Nikolai Gogol'. 'Outstanding Personalities of Ukraine' series. The coin is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding writer who revealed to the world the singularity of Ukraine – Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol. N.Gogol was born in the village of Velyki Sorochyntsi (now in Poltava oblast) in the family of a writer.
Obverse: Above there is the Small National Emblem of Ukraine with the semicircular legend: ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ (NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE), below there are the coin face value and issue year – 5 ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ / 2009 (5 HRYVNIAS / 2009) as well as the composition symbolizing two main subjects of Gogol’s creative work: that of Ukraine with its history, traditions, myths and the topic of the imperial capital city with its high life, etc.
Reverse: There is a portrait of Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol dressed in a cape and a vyshyvanka (embroidered shirt) embodying the land that had educated him. Above there is the semicircular inscription: ÌÈÊÎËÀ ÃÎÃÎËÜ (NIKOLAI GOGOL in Ukrainian) and below 1809 / 1852 – years of his life.

Description: Jubilee coin 'Sholem Aleichem'. 'Outstanding Personalities of Ukraine' series. The coin is dedicated to 150th anniversary of Sholem Aleichem, the world known author, playwright and educator, whose works combine humor and lyricism.
Obverse: Above there is the Small National Emblem of Ukraine with the semicircular legend: ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ (NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE), in the centre – the conventionalized composition: against the background of book sheets – Sholem Aleichem’s personal signet with a fragmentary cartoon regarding his creative work (on the right), below there are the coin face value and issue year – 5 ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ / 2009 (5 HRYVNIAS / 2009).
Reverse: There are Sholem Aleichem’s portrait and inscriptions in circumference: above – ÌÈÐ ÂÀÌ (PEACE BE WITH YOU), below – 1859 – 1916, on the right – ØÎËÎÌ-ÀËÅÉÕÅÌ (SHOLEM ALEICHEM), on the left – ÐÀÁÈÍÎÂÈ× ØÎËÎÌ (RABINOVICH SHOLEM), being the latter two stylized and in Ukrainian.

Description: Jubilee coin 'Ivan Kotlyarevsky'. 'Outstanding Personalities of Ukraine' series. The coin is dedicated to Ivan Petrovych Kotliarevskyi (1769 – 1838), an outstanding Ukrainian writer, public figure, the first classicist of modern Ukrainian literature, author of the famous works – the poem 'Eneida' (Aeneid), the play 'Natalka Poltavka' (Natalka from Poltava) and the vaudeville 'Moskal-Charivnyk' (The Muscovite-Sorcerer).
Observe: Above there is the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the semicircular legend: ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ (NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE); below there is the coin face value 5 ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ (5 HRYVNIAS), and in the centre – the conventionalized composition representing Aeneas, a boat, a fragment of a column from Troy and an helmet with the coin issue year indication 2009 thereunder.
Reverse: There is a portrait of Ivan Kotliarevskyi; to the left and right thereof there are lines from T.Shevchenko's poem 'To Kotliarevskyi’s Imperishable Memory' ...Ïîêè ñîíöå ç íåáà ñÿº, Òåáå íå çàáóäóòü! (While the sun in the sky shines, You will not be forgotten!) and semicircular inscriptions: ²ÂÀÍ ÊÎÒËßÐÅÂÑÜÊÈÉ (IVAN KOTLIAREVSKYI) above and 1769 – 1838 (years of his life) below.

Description: Jubilee coin '225 Years of Lviv National Medical University'. 'Higher educational establishments' series. The jubilee coin is dedicated to one of the oldest medical universities in Ukraine – Lviv National Medical University that in 1998 was named after Danylo Halytskyi (Daniel of Galicia). The University is associated with the work of many famous scientists, origination and development of more than 20 scientific schools.
Obverse: Above there is the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine with the semicircular legend: ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÁÀÍÊ ÓÊÐÀ¯ÍÈ (NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE); below there is the coin face value 5 / ÃÐÈÂÅÍÜ (5 / HRYVNIAS), and in the centre, against the dark background, there are the initial lines of the Hippocratic Oath in Latin; under them on the left – the coin issue year indication 2009 and, to the right, the university emblem.
Reverse: There is depicted the university building amid the legends: above 225 / ÐÎʲ (225 / YEARS), below ²ÌÅͲ / ÄÀÍÈËÀ / ÃÀËÈÖÜÊÎÃÎ (NAMED AFTER / DANYLO / HALYTSKYI) and the circular inscription: ËܲÂÑÜÊÈÉ ÍÀÖ²ÎÍÀËÜÍÈÉ ÌÅÄÈ×ÍÈÉ ÓͲÂÅÐÑÈÒÅÒ (LVIV NATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY).
