Description: Commemorative coin 'Christmas'. According to the Gospel the Cod Son, the founder of the Christian dogma, was born in Bethlehem to Virgin Mary and the Holly Spirit 2 000 years ago.
Obverse: There is the coat of arms of Ukraine between the two figures of angels and the following legends: UKRAINE / 50 HRYVNAS / 1999, the designation of precious metal and its pure weight.
Reverse: The picture of the Bible legend of the birth of Jesus Christ is reproduced in a frame of symbolic geometric figures. The Blessed Virgin with the baby in the aureole of the Bethlehem star is surrounded by and Three Wise Men with gifts the domestic animals.
900 standard gold. Weight – 15.55 g., diameter – 25.0 mm., edge – plain. Artist and sculptor – Roman Chaikovsky.
Put in circulation since December 29, 1999. Mintage: 3 000. The coin was struck at the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.
