Description: Commemorative coin 'Millennium of Mintage in Kyiv'. The coin is dedicated to the first mintage of Kyiv Rus coins, i.e. zlatnyky and sriblianyky, at the end of 10th- early 11th centuries during the rule of the Kyiv Prince Volodymyr the Great.
Obverse: There are: the Small National Emblem of Ukraine and the semicircular legend НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE) (above), composition of the coins: zlatnyk (local gilding, gold weight in fineness – 0.0004 g) and sriblianyky (on the right), a part of the ancient Kyiv reconstruction model (on the left), under which indication of the metal and its fineness, weight in fineness, the coin face value – 20 / ГРИВЕНЬ (20 / HRYVNIAS), the coin issue year – 2008 and the logotype of the NBU Mint.
Reverse: There is depicted a scene of mintage and the inscription ТИСЯЧОЛІТТЯ / МОНЕТНОГО КАРБУВАННЯ / У КИЄВІ (MILLENNIUM / OF COIN MINTAGE / IN KYIV).
925 standard silver. Weight – 62.2 g., diameter – 50.0 mm., edge – set of grooves. Artists: Borys Hrudenko, Sviatoslav Ivanenko, sculptor: Anatolii Demianenko.
Put in circulation since October 24, 2008. Mintage: 5 000. The coin was struck at the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.
