Description: Commemorative coin 'Severyn Nalyvayko'. The coin is dedicated to the memory of Severyn Nalyvayko (? – 1597), leader of Cossack-peasant uprising of 1594 – 1596 in Ukraine against the domination of Poland.
Obverse: In the middle of the beads circumference decoration, there is the composition symbolizing the national idea of Unification of Ukraine: the emblematic figures of the Holy Michael Archistrategos, the patron of Kiev and crowned lion of Galitch and Volhyn principalities hold the Small State Emblem of Ukraine – Trident on the shield. Over the composition, there is the year of coin issue – 1997. Above, around the coin external circumference there is an inscription: УКРАЇНА and – underneath in two line – 20 ГРИВЕНЬ, coin's face value. All inscriptions are separated from one another with baroque ornaments and griffins depictions. At the left from the figure '20' there are designations of metal and coin's pure weight.
Reverse: At the center there is a depiction of Severyn Nalyvayko on a horse with a sword at his right hand and a torch at his left. Underneath and at the right, there are figures of armed insurgent people. At the left mat segment there is an inscription СЕВЕРИН НАЛИВАЙКО (SEVERYN NALYVAYKO) between the external edge and the beads semicircle. At the right mat segment there is a two line inscription 1594 – 1596 – years of uprising under Severyn Nalyvayko's leadership.
925 standard silver. Weight – 33.1 g., diameter – 38.61 mm., edge – incised. Artist: Aleksander Ivakhnenko; sculptors: Andjey Novakowski (obverse) and Roman Chaykovsky (reverse).
Put in circulation since January 26, 1998. Mintage: 5 000. The coin was struck at the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.

Description: Jubilee coin 'The War of Liberation of the Mid – 17th Century'. The coin is dedicated to 350 years of begin of the War of Liberation of the Mid – 17th Century for independence and establishment of the national state.
Obverse: In the middle of the beads circumference decoration, there is the composition general for the whole series symbolizing the national idea of Unification of Ukraine: near the Small State Emblem of Ukraine there are the emblematic figures of the Holy Michael Archistrategos, the patron of Kiev and crowned lion, symbol of Lviv. Around the composition, there are conventionalized inscriptions, separated from one another with baroque ornaments and griffins depictions: УКРАЇНА and 1998 (above), 20 ГРИВЕНЬ, (underneath in two lines) and the symbol of the precious metal, its fineness and weight.
Reverse: In the beads circumference against a background of a sand-glass, symbol of heredity of ages, there is a depiction of a fight of Zaporizhzhia Cossack and a Polish winged Reitar. Aside of the battle scene there are rider figures: Hetman Bohdan Khmelnitsky, leader of the liberation movement and a Bandura-Cossack, bard of heroic campaigns. Around the composition there is a conventionalized inscription: ВИЗВОЛЬНА ВІЙНА СЕРЕДИНИ ХVІІ СТ. (THE WAR OF LIBERATION OF THE MID 17TH).
