The coin is dedicated to one of the greatest battles in medieval Europe, i.e. the Battle of Grunwald that occurred in July of 1410 between the crusader knights of the Teutonic Order and united army of the Kingdom of Poland and Grand Duchy of Lithuania including among others troops from Ukrainian lands.
July 14, 2010 Ukraine has been struck 20 Hryvnias coin dedicated to 600 Years of the Battle of Grunwald.

Description: Commemorative coin '600 Years of the Battle of Grunwald'.
Obverse: An image of the eagle established as the state emblem of the Republic of Poland. On the sides of the Eagle, a notation of the year of issue, 20 – 10, under the Eagle an inscription, ZŁ 2 ZŁ. In the rim, an inscription: RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA (REPUBLIC OF POLAND), preceded and followed by six pearls. The Mint’s mark, M/W, under the eagle’s left leg.
Reverse: In the center, stylized images of a Polish knight and a Lithuanian knight, holding drawn swords and shields with the emblems of Poland and Lithuania. On the right- hand side, a stylized image of a mounted knight holding a lancet. At the top, against the background of stylized images of knights’ lancets two inscriptions, 1410 and 2010, visible depending on the viewing angle.
At the bottom, under the knights’ feet a lying banner of the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order. Against the background of the banner, a stylized inscription, GRUNWALD / 1410.
Diameter – 27 mm, weight – 8.15 g., edge plain with the inscription, NBP, repeated eight times, every second one inverted by 180 degrees, separated by stars. Designers: Ewa Tyc-Karpińska (obverse), Robert Kotowicz (reverse).
Put in circulation since 01.07. 2010. Mintage: 1 400 000. The coin was struck at the National Bank of Poland.

Obverse: In the center, a stylized image of King Władysław Jagiełło against a banner with the emblems of Poland and Lithuania. On the left-hand side, an image of the eagle established as the state emblem of the Republic of Poland and the notation of the year of issue, 2010. On the right hand-side, at the bottom an inscription, 10 ZŁ. Below, a semicircular inscription: RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA. The Mint’s mark, M/W, under the eagle’s left leg.
Reverse: In the center, a stylised image of knights on horseback in combat. In the background, stylized images of the emblems of Poland and Lithuania and knights’ lances placed diagonally. At the top, a stylized inscription: GRUNWALD / 1410.
925/1000 standard silver, weight – 14.14 g., dimensions 40.00 x – 32.00 mm (ellipse), edge – plain. Mintage: 60 000. Designer – Robert Kotowicz.
Put into circulation since 01.07. 2010. Mintage: 60 000. The coin was struck at the National Bank of Poland.
