Description: Coin of Fortune. Obverse: The obverse is gold plated. It features the sun, beneath the central motif, the inscription LATVIJAS REPUBLIKA (REPUBLIC OF LATVIA) is arranged in a semicircle. Reverse: The reverse is in silver. In the lower part, a fragment of a waning moon is featured by applying frosting; in the upper part, a constellation is set out in relief. The semicircle inscription: 1 LATS. Bimetal. 925 standard silver, 999 standard gold plated. Diameter – 28 mm. Weight – 15 g. Edge plain. Artist: Ilmars Blumbergs, sculptor: Janis Ronis.

Coin of Fortune has a symbolic meaning and 'attracts' of success and money to its proprietor. The two sides of the coin signify the two aspects of man's existence – freedom and predestination. Divine interference, signs of fortune, fatal events and more than that is minted, encoded, burnished into this coin.
