Description: Commemorative coin 'Pectoral'. 'Spiritual Treasures of Ukraine' series. Commemorative coin of 100 Hryvnias denomination is dedicated to the golden Pectoral (4-th century B.C.), the unsurpassed masterpiece of Hellenic and Scythian art found at the 'Tovsta Mohyla' burial mound in Dnepropetrovsk region (1971).
Obverse: There is a depiction of a twisted plait with a vegetable ornamentation fragment, separating the pectoral tiers. In the middle of it there is the small State Emblem of Ukraine and the coin mintage year, as well as inscriptions: УКРАЇНА, 100 ГРИВЕНЬ, the designation of metal and its pure weight and the Mint logo of the NBU.
Reverse: Upon the background of a Scythian burial mound there is the pectoral depiction with enlarged fragments of its upper tier: above – there is a mare with her colt standing on the top of a burial mound; beneath – there are two men stretching out an animal skin.
900 standard gold. Weight – 31.1 g., diameter – 32.0 mm., edge – sector corrugation. Artist and sculptor – Sviatoslav Ivanenko.
Put in circulation since July 28, 2003. Mintage: 1 500. The coin was struck at the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.
