Description: Commemorative coin 'Scythian Gold. The Deer'. 'The Smallest Golden Coin' series. The coin is dedicated to a Scythian jewellery artefact, the gold plate depicting a deer (turn of the 7th-6th centuries BC) from a kurhan (burial mound) near the village of Syniavka (Cherkasy Oblast).
Obverse: Within the circle of beads there is the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine, above it – 2011 (the coin issue year), on the left – coin metal and its fineness and on the right – the logotype of the NBU Mint and the coin weight in fineness; between the circle and the coin edge there are the semicircular legends: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE) above and 2 ГРИВНІ (2 HRYVNIAS) underneath.
Reverse: There is depicted the deer figurine with the semicircular inscription thereunder СКІФСЬКЕ ЗОЛОТО (SCYTHIAN GOLD).
999.9 gold. Weight – 1.24 g., diameter – 13.92 mm., edge – smooth. Artist: Borys Hrudenko, sculptors – Vladymyr Demianenko, Sviatoslav Ivanenko.
Put in circulation since 30 June 2011. Mintage: 10 000. The coin was struck at the National Bank of Ukraine Mint.
