Reverse: Globe design, at right – cow nursing calf, beneath – FAO, at right – value 100 LIRE and date '1979'. In the upper part inscription: NUTRIRE IL MONDO.
Diameter – 27.8 mm, weight – 8.00 g. Edge – reeded. Mintage: 78 340 000.
The coin was withdrawn from circulation.

Reverse: Globe design, in the upper part – FAO logo with date 1945 – 1995, beneath – denomination 100 LIRE with olive branch.
Diameter – 22 mm, weight – 4.53 g. Edge – reeded. Mintage: 100 000 000.
The coin was withdrawn from circulation with 01.01.2002 when in the country was introduced the euro.
