Description: Jubilee nine-sided coin '250 Years Vienna Zoo'.
Obverse: This nine sided coin symbolic for the nine federal provinces of Austria. Their coats-of arms encircle the denomination '5'. Semicircular inscriptions: 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' and 'EURO'.
Reverse: The Emperor's Pavilion surrounded by a variety of animals from the zoo. The dates '1752 – 2002' refer to the anniversary and, of course, date the coin itself. Semicircular inscription: 250 JAHRE TIERGARTEN SCHÖNBRUNN.
800 standard solver. Weight – 10 g., diameter – 28.5 mm., edge – plain. Artist and sculptor: Helmut Andexlinger.
Put in circulation since 08.05.2002. Mintage: 500 000 (circulation quality), 100 000 (special uncirculated).
The coin was struck at the Austrian Mint.
