Obverse: In the center there is a portrait of empress Elisabeth to the left, without letters ММД under the portrait. Circular inscription: Б. М. ЕЛИСАВЕТЬ. I · IМП: I САМОД: ВСЕРОС:
Reverse: In the center there is the National arms, crowned double-headed eagle. Circular inscription: ДВА · РУБЛИ · 17 – 56 · МОН · ЦЕНА.
917 standard gold. Diameter – 18.5 mm. Weight – 3.24 g. (weight in fineness – 2.97 g.). Edge – incised. Mintage: 53 000. The coin was struck at the Red Mint (Moscow).
The coin is issued for circulation among the court circle and for gifts.
