PAPER MONEY OF KRAKOW GENERAL-GOVERNMENT. 1941 – 1944.
ISSUE I. These paper notes issued on March 1, 1940.
All inscriptions in Polish.
On April 8, 1940 the Emission Bank of Poland issued the banknotes of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 Zlotyh denomination with the date 'March 1, 1940'. These paper notes were legal tender within General-Government.
On November 15, 1940 was issued the banknote of 500 Zlotyh. Paper notes were developed by Leonard Sovinskiy and were printed at the Imperial printing-house in Berlin. Their prototypes were pre-war banknotes of Bank of Polish. 18.06.2009.

Description: Face side: On the ornamented background there is inscription in five lines in oval vignette: JEDEN / ZŁOTY / BANK EMISYJNY / W POLSCE / KRAKƠW, 1. MARCIA 1940 R. Under it there are the signatures of president and vice-president. Beneath, in the center, there is series number, 7 digit serial, red color. To the right there is denomination 1 ZŁOTY in ornamental vignette. On the left upper and bottom corners there is denomination.
Back side: In the center of the ornamented background there is denomination in vignette. To the left and to the right from denomination there are letters ZŁ. There is inscription: BANK EMISYJNY W POLSCE (above) and JEDEN ZŁOTY (beneath). In the each corners of background there is denomination.
Dimensions: 100 х 65 mm. Watermark: 'diamond pattern'. The predominant color is olive.
The series with 1 figure: Х·ХХХХХХХ; 7 digit serial, all signs of serial number have the identical size.

Description: Face side: On the ornamented background there is inscription in four lines: DWA ZŁOTE / BANK EMISYJNY / W POLSCE / KRAKƠW, 1. MARCIA 1940 R. Under it there are the signatures of president and vice-president. Beneath, in the center, there is series number, 7 digit serial, red color. In the upper part of the background there is inscription: BANK EMISYJNY W POLSCE, in the bottom – DWA ZŁOTE. In the right bottom corner there is denomination in ornamental frame. On the right from the text there is portrait of woman wearing head scarf in ornamental frame, under it – denomination.
Back side: In the center of the ornamented background there is ornamental vignette. In the left and right bottom corners of background there is denomination. To the left and to the right from vignette there is denomination. There are inscriptions: BANK EMISYJNY W POLSCE (above) and DWA ZŁOTE (beneath).
Dimensions: 110 х 68 mm. Watermark: 'diamond pattern'. The predominant color is brown.

Description: Face side: On the ornamented background there is inscription in four lines: PIĘĆ / ZŁOTYCH / BANK EMISYJNY W POLSCE / KRAKƠW, 1. MARCIA 1940 R. Under it there are the signatures of president and vice-president. Beneath, in the center, there is series number, 7 digit serial, red color. In the each corners of background there is the denomination in square frames. To the right of the text there is portrait of woman in circle frame. On the left allonge – head a man in cap (above) and denomination in vignette (beneath).
Back side: In the center of the ornamented background there is inscription: BANK EMISYJNY W POLSCE. To the left and to the right there is denomination in geometrical vignette. Beneath it denomination: PIĘĆ ZŁOTYCH.
Dimensions: 150 х 82 mm. Watermark: 'daggers from one horizontal and two vertical hyphens'. The predominant color is blue-green.

Description: Face side: On the ornamented background there is inscription in four lines in oval vignette: 10 / DZIESIĘĆ ZŁOTYCH / BANK EMISYJNY W POLSCE / KRAKƠW, 1. MARCIA 1940 R. Under it there are the signatures of president and vice-president. Beneath there is series number, 7 digit serial, red color. To the left of the vignette there is woman with the book and owl (the allegory of knowledge), to the right – woman with lyre and unicorn (the allegory of art). On the left allonge – head a girl in headdress (above) and denomination in vignette (beneath).
Back side: In the center of the ornamented background there is monument of F. Chopin in Warsaw (XIX century). There is inscription in three lines: BANK EMISYJNY W POLSCE (at left) and 10 DZIESIĘĆ ZŁOTYCH (at right). In the left and right upper corners there is denomination.
Dimensions: 170 х 85 mm. Watermark: 'vertical wavy lines'. The predominant colors are brown and yellow. Series F, number – 1283260.

Description: Face side: On the ornamented background there is inscription in six lines in geometric vignette: BANK / EMISYJNY / W POLSCE / DWADZIEŚCIA ZŁOTYCH / KRAKƠW, 1. MARCIA 1940 R. Under it there are the signatures of president and vice-president, beneath it there is denomination in vignette. To the left there is female statue with two children. To the left in vignette there is a girl’s head, beneath there is series number, 7 digit serial, red color. On the left allonge – head a man in cap (above) and denomination in vignette (beneath).
Back side: In the center of the ornamented background there is image of king castle in Krakow (VII century). To the left there is the youth with model of castle and paper roll (the allegory of building), to the right – the girl with book, pen and globe (the allegory of knowledge). There is inscription: DWADZIEŚCIA ZŁOTYCH (above) and BANK EMISYJNY W POLSCE (beneath). In the left and right upper corners there is denomination. On each side of inscription there is denomination.
Dimensions: 173 х 91 mm. Watermark: 'vertical wavy lines'. The predominant colors are gray and blue. Series K, number – 5528053.
