Museum of money of Feodosia
>> In circulation in Crimea >> THE COINS OF BOSPORAN KINGDOM (early 4th century B.C. – mid. 4th century A.D.). >> Perisades II (about 283 – 245 B.C.). Two series of coins were issued when Perisades II ruled. Series I (about 283 – 275 B.C.) consisits of silver coins featuring bearded and beardless satires and Apollo. Series II (about 275 – 265 B.C.) is made up by the three varieties of copper coins: – previous series in the name of Spartocus carrying countermarks 'star' and 'bowcase'; – coins of the same type with the countrermarks cut out in new stumps supplementing the issue; – coins of a new type featuring heads of a satire and a bull representing lower values as compared with the first two kinds.
