Provisional notes of the Ministry of Finance of Poland. 1924 – 1938.
PROVISIONAL NOTES OF THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE OF POLAND. 1924 – 1938.
In 28.041924, along with provisional notes (Bilety Zdawkowy, overprints on old, bisected notes) for 1 and 5 groszy, the Ministry of Finance issued notes for 10, 20 and 50 groszy, whilst the Bank Polski introduced 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 złotych.
From 01.05.1925, the Ministry of Finance issued 2 and 5 złotych (Bilety Zdawkowy), and 25.10.1926 – State note (Bilet Panstwowy) for 5 złotych, before they were replaced by silver coins, and the Bank Polski issued 5, 10, 20 and 50 złotych notes, with 100 złotych only reintroduced in 1932. In 1936, the Bank Polski issued 2 złote notes, followed in 1938 by Ministry of Finance State notes for 1 złoty.

This note was overprinted on old, bisected (there is a right and a left half) the State Loan-Office Note of 500 000 Polish Marek, issued in 1923.
Face side: On the background of the face side of 500 000 Polish Marek note there were overprinted images of reverse and obverse of change 1 Grosz coin, issued in 1923. Beneath inscription in two lines: BILET ZDAWKOWY / WARTOŚT 1 GROSZ. Under it there is the text: Warsawa. data 28 Kwietnia 1924 r. and two signatures.
Back side: On the background of the back side of 500 000 Polish Marek note there were overprinted issuer information.
Issue 28.04.1924. Dimensions: 70 õ 80 mm. Watermark: 'geometric figures'. Serial number is the serial number of 500 000 Polish Marek note.
There are (a right and a left half in pairs):
– 6 digit serial number, the series is designated by two letters, height of letters – 3 mm, height of figures – 4 mm.
– 6 digit serial number, the series is designated by two letters, height of letters – 3.5 mm, height of figures – 4 mm.
– 7 digit serial number, the series is designated by one letter.
– 7 digit serial number, the series is designated by two letters, height of letters – 3 mm, height of figures – 3 – 3.5 mm.
– 7 digit serial number, the series is designated by two letters, height of letters – 4 mm, height of figures – 3 mm.
The note put in circulation 28.04.1924, withdrawn from circulation in 1931.

Face side: In the center of the ornamented background there is an oval vignette with image of the Zygmunt's Column constructed in 1644 on the order of King Władysław IV (Warsaw). Under vignette there is the text: Warsawa. data 28 Kwietnia 1924 r., beneath – two signatures. To the left and to the right of the vignette there are the reverse and obverse of change 10 Groszy coin, issued in 1923. There are two inscription: BILET ZDAWKOWY (above reverse, DZIESIĘĆ GROSZY (above obverse).
Back side: On the background there is the issuer information in frame.

To the left and to the right of the vignette there are the reverse and obverse of change 20 Groszy coin, issued in 1923. There are inscription between images: BILET ZDAWKOWY.
Back side: On the background there is the issuer information in frame.
