In 1912 Russia celebrated centenary of Patriotic War of 1812.

The centenary was marked by struck the silver ruble of 1912 commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Borodino, when the Russians fought against the invading French Grande Armу under Napoleon.

On this coin there is the unique image the arms of Kiev , 'Saint Archangel Michael' on the Russian coins.

Description: Commemorative coin "100 anniversary of Patriotic War of 1812".
Obverse: Alexander's I state seal on which there is the stylized State Emblem - a two-headed eagle with a scepter, orb and the big imperial crown encircled with 4 arms of 3 empires and 3 cities which have a part of Russian empire: the Great Princedom Finnish, empires Kazan, empires Siberian, cities Kiev, Novgorod and Astrakhan. The legend: "АЛЕКСАНДР I БОЖIЮ МИЛОСТIЮ ИМПЕРАТОР И САМОДЕРЖЕЦЬ ВСЕРОССIЙСЬКИЙ".
Reverse: Between two dates of anniversaries "1812" and "1912", symbolizing centenary, there is the text taken from the celebratory manifest of Nikolay II.
900 standard silver. Diameter – 33.65 mm. Weight – 20.00 g. Edge – plain, incuse lettering ЧИСТАГО СЕРЕБРА 4 ЗОЛОТНИКА 21 ДОЛЯ. Artist: M.A. Skudnov, sculptor: A.F. Vasjutinsky. Mintage: 26 500.
The coin was struck at the St.Petersburg mint.
