STATE CIRCULATION COINS VALUE OF 1/2 MARK AND 1 MARK OF GERMAN EMPIRE (1873 Ц 1918).


The coins were in circulation in territory of Ukraine from end of April to the middle of November, 1918, as well as the coins from other municipal governments Germany.

Description: Obverse: The arms of the country within wreath with a so-called big eagle, above it Ц the German imperial crown; on a breast of an eagle Ц board with the arms of Prussia, around it Ц a Prussian award of the Black Eagle with a circuit. Beneath the wreath Ц mint mark 'A' (variants: A, D, E, F, G, J).
Reverse: Face value: '1 / 2 MARK' in two lines within wreath. Above it Ц semicircular inscription: DEUTSCHES REICH, beneath Ц year of issue.
900 standard silver. Diameter Ц 20 mm. Weight Ц 2.77 g. Edge Ц milled, thickness 1.2 mm. Mintage: 9 750 000. Mint mark Ц Berlin (ј).
This type of coin has been struck in 1905 Ц 1919. The coin was withdrawn from circulation since 19.04.1920, was in circulation in Ukraine from end of April to the middle of November, 1918.
