ELECTRONIC MONEY. WEBMONEY TRANSFER

Some time ago, it was even hard to imagine, that money could be transferred instantly for any distance and at any time. Even cashless money on bank accounts does not possess such properties. With development of the Internet it became clear that this environment ideally befits for creation of new type of money, possessing the indicated dignities. They have got the name of electronic money (EM).
Electronic money is kept on the personal computer of user, transferred from one account to another through the Internet instantly. It doesn’t matter of where the sender and the recipient located.
Besides, as electronic money is electronic record, verified by the digital signature of user, they do not wear out, and it is impossible to counterfeit them. The prime price of emission and transfers of e-money is extremely low, so such situation allows the companies-creators of Systems of Electronic Money (SEM) to set a very low commission on transfers.
Economically EM is obligation of Issuer before the holder of the money; EM is compensated to holder on his first requirement.
The first SEM – DigiCash – was created in Holland in 1984. Since that time electronic money is developing quickly and continuously. Different systems of electronic money compete with each other constantly. The systems which offer their users the most complete infrastructure of services, such as exchanges, guarantee services, methods of protected information transfer, instruments for the conducting own internet-business etc, are developing quicker than others.
Nowadays, the biggest electronic payments system in Russia is WebMoney (official site www.webmoney.ru, Ukrainian representative office – company «Ukrainian Guarantee Agency» – www.ukrgarant.com). The number of registrations starting from the System launch in November 1998 and up to the beginning of 2007 is 3.5 million users, 550 thousands of them are Ukrainians.
WebMoney provides its clients with multi-currency e-wallet, numerous services and solutions for p2p payments; internet based trading platforms billing systems and merchants. It is a powerful hardware and software system that enables Internet users to conduct safe transactions in real time using WebMoney-units (WM-units). All this made WebMoney a leading company in the environment of rapidly growing electronic commerce in Russia. Special client software used in the WebMoney Transfer system helps to manage and operate funds. The transfer of funds occurs instantly. It gives an opportunity to pay for goods and services on internet-sites around the clock. That is why almost all internet-shops without exception accept WebMoney for payment.
User can fund his electronic purse by a wire transfer in any branch of any bank of Ukraine, via WMU Dealers, or with prepaid WM-card with a special PIN-code.
The creators of WebMoney Transfer devote a vital importance to the security of users. They offer various security measures to perform transactions online safely. WM Purses are protected against any damage. To each session the System uses unique session keys to provide and guarantee complete confidentiality of the transaction and data exchange. Any information, passed between the computer of user and server of the System, is coded by proof cryptographic algorithms.
