Denomination: 20 Hryvnias Year: 2010 Material: Silver Description: Commemorative coin 'Zymne Holy Mountain Cloister of the Dormition'. 'Architectural monuments of Ukraine' series. The coin is dedicated to one of few constructions of the military defense which survive to this day, i.e. Zymne Holy Mountain Cloister of the Dormition whose main erection is the Dormition Cathedral (1495).
Obverse: There are the Small Coat of Arms of Ukraine and the semicircular legend: НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ (NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE) above; the coin issue year 2010 and the face value: 20 ГРИВЕНЬ (20 HRYVNIAS) below; the central part of the miracle-working icon within its revetment supported by angels. Under the icon there is the conventionalized inscription: ЗИМНЕНСЬКА ІКОНА ПРЕСВ. БОГОРОДИЦІ (ZYMNE ICON OF THE BLESSED MOTHER OF GOD).
Reverse: There are depicted the cloister buildings located on a hill; above there is the semicircular conventionalized inscription ЗИМНЕНСЬКИЙ СВЯТОГІРСЬКИЙ УСПЕНСЬКИЙ МОНАСТИР (ZYMNE HOLY-MOUNTAIN DORMITION CLOISTER). Below, against the landscape background, the legend СЕЛО ЗИМНЕ, ВОЛИНЬ (village of Zymne, Volhynia).
925 standard silver. Weight – 62.2 g., diameter – 50.00 mm., edge – smooth with in-depth legend indicating the metal, its fineness, weight in fineness and the Mint logotype. Decoration elements of the icon: 3 brilliants of total weight 0.015 carat minimum, 2 sapphires (of orange colour) of total weight 0.012 carat minimum, local gilding (weight of gold in fineness 0.00068 g minimum). Artists: obverse – Vladymyr Taran, Aleksandr Kharuk, Serhii Kharuk; reverse – Mykola Kochubei; sculptors: Roman Chaikovskyi, Vladymyr Demianenko.
Put in circulation since June 30, 2010. Mintage: 5 000. The coin was struck at the National Bank of Ukraine Mint. Country or town: Ukraine
